前總統李登輝昨暗諷馬英九總統「說話豪洨」，總統府發言人陳以信抨擊，李的媚日史觀，嚴重否定臺灣主體性，背棄台灣抗日先烈先賢丘逢甲、吳湯興、羅福星、蔣渭水等反侵略、反殖民的理念，也傷害我國主權與人民感情，更違反國際譴責日本發動侵略戰爭的共識。

民進黨主席蔡英文呼籲「包容」李言論，陳以信指出，李不是一個普通台籍日本兵，而是做了12年總統、現享卸任總統禮遇的人。蔡的說法刻意無視李的身分，就是一種「鄉愿偽善」。
